About FirstSteps

FirstSteps is a practice tool for learning bridge bidding fundamentals. Each level corresponds to a video in the Bridge 101 course. Select a level to practice the skills taught in that video.

Levels

Level 1 — Hand Assessment: Count high card points, long points, identify hand shape.

Level 2 — NT Opening Bids: Decide if a hand qualifies for a no-trump opening bid.

Level 3 — Opening Bids: Full opening bid decision — first check NT, then suit openings.

Level 4 — Responding with a Fit: Partner opens a major suit. Determine your response.

How to Play

A hand is dealt and displayed. Answer each question by tapping a button. Correct answers are shown in green, incorrect in red.
